White House spokesman Kush Desai said in a statement that “America must have the best childhood vaccine schedule in the world” and referred to “Gold Standard Science.” Bloomberg noted that the scientific evidence shows no link between autism and childhood vaccines. The report describes an internal memo circulated earlier in 2026 advising health officials to focus on less divisive subjects, and says Trump pressed Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the causes of autism at a Camp David cabinet meeting the previous week, with Kennedy responding, “We will have an answer for you.”
