U.S. Strikes Multiple Iranian Targets as Trump Vows to Hit Iran 'Hard Again Today'
U.S. forces struck multiple targets in Iran on June 10, 2026, with Central Command reporting the strikes completed at 9:04 p.m. Eastern against Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communications systems and air defense sites. Earlier that day Trump said the United States would hit Iran 'hard again today,' hours after posting that Iran had taken too long to negotiate and would 'have to pay the price.' Iran's military command then declared the Strait of Hormuz closed, warning that any vessel attempting to transit would be targeted. Iranian state media said Iran had destroyed 18 targets at U.S. facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain; Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace, and Bahrain said its air defenses intercepted Iranian attacks.
The strikes came while the administration was simultaneously pressing Tehran to sign an agreement, using escalating force as leverage in a conflict Congress has not authorized.
Trump later told Fox News he had spoken with Iranian officials who asked him to stop the strikes, and said the bombing would end shortly while leaving open further action. A tentative deal was announced four days later.
