Report Finds White House Ballroom Donors Hold $279 Billion in Federal Contracts

A Public Citizen report released in early November 2025 found that roughly two-thirds of the known corporate donors to Trump's White House ballroom project have collectively received $279 billion in federal contracts over the past five years. Lockheed Martin was the largest single contractor among the donors, with $191 billion in contracts; other donors included major tech, media, and defense firms.

The report also found that 14 of the 24 donors are facing, or have had suspended, federal enforcement actions, including antitrust cases involving Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft and others. Senators including Blumenthal, Warren and Schiff demanded answers from the ballroom's fundraisers and lobbyists about the private-donation solicitation process.

The episode adds a financial-overlap dimension to the broader controversy over the ballroom project, which involved demolishing part of the White House East Wing. Critics argue the donor list illustrates a pay-to-play dynamic in which companies with billions in federal business are also bankrolling a presidential vanity project; the White House has not disputed the contract figures.
