Trump's Ethics Filing Shows Thousands of Stock Trades Worth at Least $220 Million in Three Months

The Office of Government Ethics released periodic transaction reports for Trump covering January through March 2026. The filings document thousands of securities transactions with a disclosed value of at least $220 million and a reported ceiling near $750 million, including purchases of Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Oracle, Broadcom, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs, individual buys of $1 million to $5 million in S&P 500 index funds, Nvidia and Apple, and sales of $5 million to $25 million each in Microsoft, Amazon and Meta. Separate reporting noted purchases of Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, Netflix, Disney and Comcast securities. The White House has said the president's assets are held in a trust controlled by his children; the filings do not identify who executed the trades.

Federal disclosure rules require ranges rather than exact amounts, so the reports show that trading occurred without showing whether any transaction preceded government action affecting the issuer. Several of the named companies — media firms with pending mergers, chipmakers subject to export controls, banks subject to federal supervision — are directly affected by decisions the president makes or oversees.

No enforcement action or ethics finding arising from these filings was reported. Later reporting in June and July examined specific purchases, including Nvidia shares bought before a favorable China chip-export decision.
