Trump Posts Mocking Photo of Reuters Reporter After Snapping 'You Look Like Hell' Over Health Question

At an Oct. 29 briefing, Reuters correspondent Jacob Bogage asked Trump how he felt after weeks of campaigning and whether a briefly canceled Kansas rally was related to his being "sick of traveling." Trump replied, "You've been following me for two weeks. I feel perfect," then told the reporter, "You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape, you look like hell," calling Reuters "terrible." Two days later, on Oct. 31, Trump posted a photo of Bogage on Truth Social captioned "Reuters (One of the Worst!) reporter," repeating the "put yourself in shape" line in the image text.

The exchange extends a string of confrontations between Trump and the press corps this campaign, following a September ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico from some briefings and an ongoing access dispute with the Associated Press. Personal attacks on a reporter's appearance, amplified through an official social account, have drawn fresh criticism from press-freedom advocates as blurring policy criticism with intimidation of reporters covering the administration.

Newsweek said it emailed Reuters for comment; no response from Reuters or Bogage appears in available reporting. The Kansas and Iowa rallies Trump referenced were briefly canceled in favor of tele-rallies before being restored for that weekend.
