Trump Announces a "Complete Disarmament" Deal for Hamas, With Terms and Timeline Unstated
Trump announced on Truth Social on Thursday, July 30, 2026 that his "Board of Peace" had reached a "HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza," CBS News reported. He described a phased plan under which Gaza would transition to a new Palestinian government while an International Stabilization Force worked with local police and Israeli forces withdrew.
The announcement came by social-media post rather than a released text. No signatories, sequencing or deadline has been published, and the Board of Peace is a body Trump himself chairs — so the only account of what was agreed is the administration’s own.
As of Aug. 3, 2026 no agreement text had been released and the terms had not been independently confirmed.
