White House Installs Plaques Mocking Biden and Obama Along Presidential Walk of Fame

In December 2025, the White House added new plaques beneath portraits of former presidents on its West Wing colonnade, part of what it calls the "Presidential Walk of Fame." The plaque for Joe Biden calls him "by far, the worst President in American History," references his 2020 election as the product of what it calls "the most corrupt Election ever seen," and blames his administration for the Afghanistan withdrawal. A plaque for Barack Obama calls him "one of the most divisive political figures in American History" and repeats Trump's unproven claim that Obama's administration "spied" on his 2016 campaign. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said many plaques were written directly by Trump.

By contrast, Ronald Reagan's plaque touts his agenda favorably, while George W. Bush's includes pointed criticism despite being a fellow Republican, illustrating the partisan basis for the descriptions rather than a consistent historical standard.

The display departs from the White House's traditional presentation of past presidents with neutral or respectful framing. Critics say using the building itself to relitigate personal and political grievances against predecessors erodes an institutional norm meant to project continuity across administrations, regardless of party.
