Karoline Leavitt Will Move From the White House Podium to Trump's MAGA Inc. Super PAC Before the Midterms

Outgoing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed to reporters outside Air Force One on Aug. 21 that she will go to work for MAGA Inc., the Trump-aligned super PAC, after leaving the administration at the end of August. She did not say what her title would be. The Hill reported the PAC is sitting on more than $350 million ahead of November's midterms; Leavitt was a spokesperson for it before joining Trump's 2024 campaign. "You guys will still see me all the time," she said, adding that she plans to travel with the President during the midterm campaign.

A sitting press secretary moving directly to an outside political committee raises the standard revolving-door question of what separates official government communications from campaign messaging, particularly where the same person continues appearing alongside the President.

Trump said after her announcement that Leavitt would remain one of his "top advisers." The White House has not named a replacement; The Hill reported that names under discussion include commentator Scott Jennings and Katie Miller.
