Joint Economic Committee Democrats Estimate Trump's Oil and Gas Holdings Gained Up to $15.5 Million During His Iran War

Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee released an analysis Monday estimating that Trump's disclosed oil and gas holdings, reported as $12.5 million to $45.6 million at the end of 2025, rose about 39 percent on average through Aug. 17, to as much as $61.1 million. It also says he bought up to $3.6 million more in oil and gas stock in the first quarter of 2026.

Federal disclosures give ranges rather than exact amounts, and the analysis assumes the positions were held unchanged, so the figures are partisan staff estimates, not verified gains.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle said neither Trump nor his family "has any ability to direct, influence, or provide input regarding how the portfolio is invested." The Trump Organization did not respond to CNBC.
