ICE Arrests and Deports Milo Yiannopoulos, the British Commentator Who Urged Trump to Deport Millions

ICE said it arrested the British far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos on Aug. 27, 2026 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, Louisiana. The agency said he entered the country legally on May 14, 2019 through New York City and then overstayed, and that an immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22 after he failed to appear at his hearing. The Department of Homeland Security told NPR he was deported to the United Kingdom on Aug. 28.\n\nYiannopoulos had publicly urged mass deportations, posting last year that "we have got to deport millions and millions and millions of people." The case drew attention because the activist Laura Loomer said she had been the first to report his immigration status and had been calling for his arrest following a public falling-out, raising the question of how an individual referral moves through enforcement priorities.\n\nDHS said it would not allow "aliens in our country illegally to jet around our country." Yiannopoulos did not respond to NPR's requests for comment. Loomer did not specify what she meant in asserting he had incited violence.
