ICE Agents Break US Citizen's Arm During Long Beach E-Bike Stop, Family Says
Immigration agents detained Long Beach resident Ricardo Gonzalez on October 17, 2026, while he rode an e-bike near Elm Avenue and 56th Street, neighbors and a family GoFundMe say. Witnesses say an agent tackled him, agents tased him twice on the ground, and one knelt on his back as he yelled his arm was broken; roughly 50 neighbors gathered and blocked agents' vehicles. Police helped with medical care, and Gonzalez went by ambulance to the hospital.
Rep. Robert Garcia called the video horrific and said agents broke a U.S. citizen's arm; Mayor Rex Richardson demanded answers from DHS. It is the latest ICE standoff with bystanders in Southern California.
DHS did not respond to questions about the arrest, and Gonzalez's citizenship has not been independently confirmed by federal officials.
