ICE Agent Points a Gun at a U.S. Citizen in Virginia — Her Dashcam Contradicts the DHS Account

Dashcam and cellphone video published on Aug. 12 show an ICE officer pointing a gun at Carolina Molina, a licensed mental health therapist and U.S. citizen, in a Bailey's Crossroads parking lot in Fairfax County, Virginia, on Aug. 10. Molina said she shouted at agents making arrests, then tried to leave when ICE vehicles boxed her in. In the footage an agent approaches her window with the gun drawn and says she almost ran the officers over; her car appears stationary as they approach. A DHS spokesperson called her an "anti-ICE agitator" who drove in circles and attempted "weaponizing her vehicle" against officers, and said she could face prosecution.

The dispute is between an agency account and a recording that does not appear to support it, in an enforcement environment where such conflicts have recurred.

Molina was not arrested or charged. The Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney's office confirmed it is reviewing the video. Representative Don Beyer called for accountability. Molina has asked that any body camera footage be released.
