House Passes a War Powers Resolution Directing Trump to Pull U.S. Forces Out of Iran

On June 3, 2026, the House passed a war powers resolution directing President Trump to remove U.S. forces from Iran unless Congress authorizes the conflict. Four Republicans joined Democrats to pass the largely symbolic measure, introduced by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the ranking Democrat on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Republicans had rejected three earlier attempts to bring a war powers resolution to the floor during 2026.
