What happened

Lamberth held Lake's appointment violated the FVRA and Appointments Clause, voided every action she took between July 31 and November 19 including layoffs of 1,000+ staff, and wrote that she "repeatedly thumbed her nose" at legal requirements. The administration appealed rather than restoring staff.
