House Oversight Chairman Comer Subpoenas Attorney General Bondi Over the Epstein Files

On March 17, 2026, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer issued a subpoena to Attorney General Pam Bondi compelling her to appear for a deposition on the Justice Department's handling of the Epstein investigation and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The subpoena followed the department's March 6 release of FBI interview summaries it had earlier withheld as duplicative, and reporting that dozens of pages remained undisclosed. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche was to accompany Bondi to a private briefing with committee members. The committee had voted to authorize the subpoena earlier in March.
